Sanctions lifted on Iran as its nuclear deal with world powers enters into force
Historic nuclear deal between Iran and the West enters into force and most of the sanctions on the Islamic republic were lifted by UN, major powers confirming that Tehran has contracted its nuclear programme.
Iran has been checked by the inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has been verified by them that the country has completed all their duties that were agreed under the July 14 agreement. Due to this effect, the multilateral and national financial and economic sanctions surrounding Iran’s atomic project are now lifted. All sides remain immovably persuaded that this noteworthy arrangement is both solid and reasonable, and that it meets the necessities of all. The outcome of the agreement has showcased that will political will, commitment and multilateral diplomacy can help find practical solutions that can be effectively implemented in order to solve the most adverse issues in today’s world.
The strides taken by Iran, joined with ultra-close IAEA investigations, stretch out to no less than a year – from a couple of months already – to what extent Iran would need to make one atomic bomb of fissile material.
They include slashing by two-thirds its uranium centrifuges, reducing its stockpile of uranium – enough before the deal for several bombs – and removing the core of the Arak reactor which could have given Iran weapons-grade plutonium. Iran has always expressed their feelings about not wanted nuclear weapons, appealing that having these weapons are solely used for peaceful purposes such as power generation.
The United Nations Security Council received reports presented to them by the UN nuclear watchdogs that demonstrated that Iran has carried out all the measures that were agreed upon in the deal with world powers, resulting in an automatic end to most UN sanctions placed on Iran’s nuclear programme. The multinational and national nuclear-related sanctions on Iran were also lifted as Tehran complied with the agreement on July 14 with major powers.
The implementation of a nuclear deal with world powers has been a “glorious victory” for the “patient nation of Iran”, according to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
